What kind of environment do you like? There are lots of nice places, but not all of them fit everyone.

Uh...well...I think you'd best ask your wife and both of your respective families rather than a bunch of complete and anonymous strangers on the internet!

Your wife could make bank in Birmingham's medical field. Sorry, I am not thinking clearly but what is an EI?

Boston area would work in everything except cost of living. It's a bit on the expensive side to live here.

Well let me give you some more info on Birmingham. There are areas with nice houses for cheap and areas such as Mtn. Brook that most people here could not afford. The pay is decent, but we have no public transporation. We have a corrupt local government, but Bham is sprawled out, so you can ignore the few that have to live under the Mayor's rule.

I love Birmingham, but it isn't for everyone. Birmingham has a huge medical field and needs Engineers as much as anywhere.

If you like the South, then come visit Birmingham one weekend. Look at some houses online. Houses

Finally check out UAB(uab.edu) and the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce(google that I don't remember the address). Good luck in your search.

Go to Tampa...similar weather but a beach!

Or, here in Louisville. A large system of hospitals and Jewish Hospital is world-reknowned for its Heart/Lung dept. and is the home to the first two hand transplants, as well.
