Something doesn't quite feel right there.. I noticed that usually when a woman has strayed herself, she's usually fairly calm (albeit upset) if the man also cheats. Why would she get so upset over something she's done herself? o_O

She maybe could hesitate if it was a chick or a guy telling her this, but when an employer is calling and telling you he is fired (holding back the reason)....and then you getting told it after defending them doesn't warrant anything but going off the chain or simply responding 'Why is that a problem?'

This doesn't play to the veracity (or lack thereof) of the clip, but no HR department would ever phone an employee's spouse to inform them of the firing, and they would especially not share the reason for the firing. An HR department that slipped this information to an employee's wife would be leaving the company open to lawsuits by the former employee as well as creating un-necessary stress on the HR employee who had to make the call.

You talk with the employee, let them know, and get them out of the building as fast as possible after the talk. That's it. How they notify their family is their business, not the company's.
