She got free tickets and is making me to see them on Tuesday in Cincinnati.

I think I'm too old for rock concerts..

I would describe Nickel Creek as a sort of modern bluegrass. Maybe a little pop-influenced. Agreed, assuming she didn't mean Nickelback, it will not be a rock concert.

It's not a late 80's GnR show, or 70's Zep or Floyd, but they do have fun. They do some very interesting, non-genre covers, and they are all very talented musicians.

Should be a very laid back good time.
 
I'll go in your place! I love Nickel Creek.

It'll be a laid back crowd, no moshing, maybe some stoned hippies doing a sway-dance thing.

Also, being older won't make you a minority at a Nickel Creek show.
 
They are pretty good, I think you will probally have a good time. I would go see them, and as others have posted, it will be nothing like a rock concert.
