this is happenning with my G400, in professional, the card was fine. this is the error i get under device manager

Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35)

i updated the bios, and tried reinstalling the driver again, but no go. any ideas?

Is this problem in Pro or AS?

If you are getting the problem in AS, I would goto the GPU vendors site and download their driver for the Server versions of Windows 2000.

If you are going to use Server, I know that some vendors have the Server version of the drivers. I know what you are probably thinking, "I thought with Windows 2000, you can use the WDM (Windows Driver Model) drivers for your hardware?" This is true, but with Server and AS, Microsoft did not include the lower end component support for hardware like your video card.

If you have a GForce or 3dfx GPU, I would go to the GPU vendors site and download thier driver. The only reason is that for some strange reason, the GPU vendors drivers work better than the card vendors drivers.

Try it out. It should not hurt.

went to matrox' site, no server drivers like oyu are talking about, only 2000 in general. this makes no sense why Server and AS wont use professional drivers
