hello, i have a asus a7n8x deluxe and my sound goes all metallic, drowned, and static like after random periods of time during Counter Strike. It does not seem to do it in any other game, but mind that the only other game i play is BF 1942, it does not affect WMP either. Exiting to the menu and gettting back in does not work. i have to completely exit the game and get back in to fix it. i have done a fresh format and the latest bios/drivers from asus are installed. the previous versions of the bios did this to me also. i dont know what revision my board is. i bought it in early january if that helps. it is not my speakers, i have already tried that. What should i do? Call in my warrenty?

thnx guys

Known problem with the NForce 2 chipset. Driver fix promised. Some people have had success with some work arounds. There is a web site that deal with NForce chipsets, where there are many forum posts on this subject. You may also want to try amdmb.com.

Interesting... I got a simliar problem, but it was only on ONE server. After playing for an hour or so, the audio would start sounding metallic, and the channels would literally seperate. In addition to sounding tinny and metallic, I'd throw a nade and hear "Fire in the hole" on the left, "Fire in the hole" on the right, BOOm left, BOOm right. I'd say it was echo, but the channels were only putting out the info once. Weeeeird.
