This sounds really silly to me, but has anyone noticed that the heatsink pivots a little when attached? I'm not talking about it rocking back and forth on the core, but pivoting (rotating) on it. I suppose this is because the pressure of the clip is centered on the core and there is some play with the clip in the heatsink itself. Has anyone else noticed this? I guess it might happen with any clip design.

Mine slid around a little before I could get the clip pressed in with the screwdriver. I blamed it on the arctic silver.

Hoping not to hijack the thread but does the SLK 800U, using the motherboards mounting holes sort out this problem?

The slk-900 uses the mounting holes, not the slk-800.

Thanks for the responses. I figured it was the norm, but it kinda bugs me just the same.

My mistake; you are correct, the slk-800U does use mounting holes.
