Wierd Problem on Windows 2k Server

I manage about 80 Windows 2000 servers and lately a handful of them have developed a wierd issue that is causing me some grief.

Without any prompting the Event Viewer Application Log clears itself.

I have tried leaving it open, and over time when I refresh it it is empty.

I have tried leaving it closed, when I open it there is only a few hours worth of messages in there.

Here are the settings:

Max Log Size = 100224 KB
Overwrite Messages older than 30 days

Has anyone EVER seen anything like this?

Audit it. Check the security event log to see when it's cleared. You have some app clearing it.
