Wierd Onboard sound Problem

Up to now my 1.5year old customb built has been working fine. The problem i encountered to day is indeed a wierd onboard sound problem. The jacks in the back of my computer are plugged into the mobo, but for some reason my speakers dont work, or when they do only the left one works, or the right and then the left doesnt work, but when it does work it just stops working -_- So i tried resolving that problem by plugging it into the front, and it worked! I have sound to my speakers and headphones, the only problem is, its BACKWARS. On my speakers it doesnt matter, but on my headphones left is right and right is left. My headphones cant be reversed because of the way there made (Go around back your head) So i have no clue. Its like a loose connection in the back of the computer or what? What can i do to fix this.
