Wierd Monitor Problem *PF790*

I went to bed last night at 11:30 and all was well, when i awoke this morning i turned on my monitor no picture... Tried the cable, socket and tried it with a laptop... THe wierd thig was that the "GREEN" light would stay on from the very start of power up and not switch to standby...with nothing plugged in! Viewsonic said they never heard of this problem, and i am being sent a new monitor by Friday...Sweet!
 
they said they havent heard of the problem before? ok... basically what probably happened was that the switch that your computer uses to adjust the voltage to switch resolutions (and set the first on res) died. Happened to me once.
