Wierd Mobo Issue

I have an X2 4400+ on an Asus A8V Deluxe. Anyway...I've got it OC'd to 2.5GHz. However...I just noticed when checking for speed that it was at the default 2.2GHz. I rebooted..and now it's fine. I have left my computer on for a long period of time (about 14 days now) and I hadn't noticed when this happened. Rather strange.

Anyone have this happen to them? I don't really care that much about a fix or anything as it works great...just strange to see it clock itself down.
 
all Nik jokes aside, this question would be much better off at least in General Hardware (to get better answers)
