wierd memory benchmarks & sound probs!

Hello,

I've just built a Tbird 850mhz computer specs are

Abit KT7A mobo
128MB PC133 Hitachi RAM
Asus Geforce
SB Live Value + Digital I/O 2

Bios is running the WW revision... Problem is, since the start, i've had sound crackling and popping, i sorta solved that, but Q3 amongst others still has sound stutters that sometimes would freeze the machine. I did a SisSoft Sandra Pro 2001 Memory benchmark. My RAM throughput is 271MB/s, FPU is 284MB/s. In comparison, a Duron 600 gets 384MB/s and 400MB/s... This has utterly stumped me, my system runs slowly, getting only 45FPS on UT etc. Any ideas? Thanks!

I think this was a problem alot of people ran into. I don't remember everything about it, but I think this was the fix.

Go to sound control panel, playback-advanced,performance tab. Change hardware excelleration from full. I don't remember if you have to turn it off or just down a notch.
