wierd holiday bonuses

At my company they give each employee a honey baked ham for thanksgiving and Christmas along with a bonus check for the later holiday.

Im wondering if anyone else gets something else for the holidays other then just a check.

tomorrow we will be giving all our field employees a honeybaked ham for thanksgiving. i had manager at my last job that gave hams to all the supervisors at thanksgiving as well.

I got a $50 honey baked ham GC last year. They canned our cash bonuses.

The year before I started they did $500 BB gift card. I just missed it 🙁

I forgot they also give us 1 day off work, which is almost as good as cash bonus when you're salary.

One place I worked we got grocery store gift cards where the owner got a kickback for buying them. One of the gazillion ways the guy was shady/cheesy/cheap.

Where I am now, we don't get a Christmas bonus but there are a lot of things that make it a nice place to work anyway.

A company I worked for would throw a week long christmas event. Every day of the week leading up to the last work day, each department would cook some kind of dish for lunch. I think the teams were divided into something like 5, 6 or 7 people.

One team was mostly mexicans, they brought a small pig for pulled pork. Even though it looked nasty, still had the head on it, the meat was tasty.

The last day of the work week, the company main office would cater lunch and have a whole bunch of door prizes for everyone. There were tool sets, hats, just all kinds of stuff.

Another company I worked for, they would cater lunch on the last work day, and have a raffle. I bought a couple of tickets and won an ice chest.

have never received a christmas bonus. i guess too much of a liability for a large corp to give bonuses for one religion's holiday and not the others'.

<---not a christian, and would shut up and take any Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza bonus they give me

Nothing for Thanksgiving. For Christmas we get some kind of gift (around $50) and $1000 cash inside it. Sometimes one of our top guys will give everyone a bottle of Rose Vueve.

Last year, I think I got a $50 gift card to Outback Steakhouse.

I'd have taken a spiral ham over that any day.

Our company president, Mr Shirley used to give out cash bonuses. Now he enrolls us in the Jelly-of-the-Month club. People depended on those bonuses.

But seriously, we got a $35.00 GC to walmart or the local grocery store. It was also taxed on our paycheck.

at my old job it used to be like .75% of your base salary bonus.

at my current position, w/the old company last year, everyone got a $50 target GC. they also gave me a $2500 bonus because i was doing a good job.

this is my first xmas w/this current company at this position, so not sure if we get anything at all.

My wife gets $25 gift certificate for Butterball products.
We STILL have 4 small sized turkeys in the freezer and that is from last year!

Another company I worked for, the owner would give each employee a bonus equal to their weekly pay check X the number of years the person had been with the company.

Some of the employees had been there 4 or 5 years. So their bonus was 4 or 5 X their weekly paycheck. A couple of guys got in the 2k range for their bonus.

The company was new had been opened for only a few years. This was the owners way of trying to get employees to ride out the rough times that come with being a start up.

That was 8 years ago and I do not know if the company is still doing that.

We get a $25 pre-paid card you can cash in for Amazon certificates. We also get a performance based award the 2nd week of December that's not technically a "Christmas Bonus" but it may as well be given the timing. It's about $500.

my dad used to work in collections for Ford... they always got random shit from the repo companies they worked with.

wine baskets, steak of the month club, etc.

That's not unusual. I used to pass out honeybaked hams for Thanksgiving to contractors and clients but past couple of years I switched to $50 gift cards so they can pickup their own ham.

Deja vu!!! I once got a Honey-Baked hame with a Bible inside. Of course, ... it was just the Old Testament and the ham was Kosher.
