wierd graphics card prob.

first of all, here are some of my specs:
2.2Ghz P4
ATI Radeon X700pro GPU
Foxconn mobo (cant remember model)
I have lots of other stuff, but they're completely unrelated to the problem

I got this GPU in may, and havent had a problem with it until a few weeks ago.
I was just talking to some people on aim, and all of a sudden it seemed like my computer froze. (same screen, mouse arrow wouldnt move, etc.)
I restarted my comp, and the screen stayed blank.

I tryed a few other monitors on my comp. and they were all blank too.
So I went and bought another X700pro (since I couldnt get ahold of ATI), and the same thing happened. blank screen.

I put the old X700 in my parent's computer, and the screen was blank.
I then put the new one in their computer. This time it worked.

Do you think that maybe the old X700 is messed up and so is my AGP slot?
should I try the new X700 with a new mobo?

HELP!!

Sounds like a very good idea for a first anaysis of the problem.

well I just ordered a new motherboard, so hopefully that should fix it.

Luckily, the motherboard purchase gives me an excuse to upgrade to a better CPU.. I have a p.o.s. 2.2Ghz P4 that I salvaged from a dell I bought like 3 years ago. the mobo has a 939 socket, so I'm getting a Athlon 64 3200+(or was it 3000+?)
