i have a website:

designforum.us

something wierd is going on. i switched web hosts 2 days ago. i changed the nameservers and everything on godaddy.com (my domain manager).

  • wed afternoon at my school and at home i could get to the website, no prob.
thurs i could get to my site at school, but not at home.
Fri i could get to my site at school, but not at home.
i have tried on 3 different computers at my house and i see a message from my old host saying "The website you have requested has been cancelled."

i know that godaddy says to allow up to 3 days for the change in nameservers to take effect, but it works sometimes and doesnt work other times.

does anyone know what is going on. tell me what you see if you go to my site.

-thanks

Ryan

Deisgn Forums. Change you title. Give it a couple more days, some times it takes a while.

Unless your using different dns servers I don't see how it would work and than stop working, but nonetheless I'd give it another day.

It's called DNS propogation. You can't guarantee you will surf to the correct site until maybe 96 hours after your changes (72 hours is generally a good solid number given by ISPs/hosts). Just be patient, and you should have the correct DNS information everywhere.

Sounds to me more like your ISP has an issue with the host lookup. Does it give you the correct IP address if you ping the site, or perform an nslookup on it?
