The translator may be able to translate German into readable English, but the German it generates sucks almost as badly as what some of the members here produce. It's understandable German, but in several cases it chooses the wrong word, and the grammar is a mess.
Edit: I have no problems reading German, I can speak it well enough to manage a conversation when I'm in Germany, but it's been too long since I wrote it, so I'm not going to bother with that. If you want to know how well a translator like Babelfish works, try the following: Translate a text from English to another language, then to yet another language, then that one back into English. You still won't know if it uses the correct words, but it does show how messy it can get.
