I'm confused when looking at the measurements of laptops.

I need to make sure that the laptop I eventually get fits in my Laptop bag.

my bag states the following.
Fits laptops: 15" x 12.25" x 1.8"

A laptop I was looking at states the following
Dimensions - 13.1" x 9.0" x 1 - 1.2"

Do they all follow the same dimension structure of width x depth and not the other way around?

The larger number is most likely the length. Even still, if it was W x L instead of L x W, wouldn't you just turn the laptop so it fits in the bag still?

But as previously stated, the dimension are most likely written in L x W x H form, so according to the numbers, it should fit in your bag.

So is depth = Length?

Some sites go back and forth. The one i stated above might be one that i get.

I would say that the first number in the sets is length since length tends to be the largest number (dimension wise) on laptops.

But if you think about it, it doesn't really matter if those two larger numbers (13.1 and 9.0) are depth or length since if the laptop doesn't fit in the bag in one direction, just rotate 90 degrees and it will slip right into the bag.
