Widescreen resolution with integrated video

Maybe Im googling the wrong keywords here cause I cant seem to find an answer, hopefully someone can help. I have a Acer widescreen LCD that Im trying to run at native resolution (1440x900) with integrated video on my motherboard but the highest resolution in Windows XP display properties is 1280x720. I know for a fact the integrated video can handle 1440x900 because in *nix all I had to do was add the line to xorg.conf. How can I get the higher resolution to come up?

The latest driver, assuming you don't have it already, is probably a good start. Your manufacturer link should provide it.

After that, I'm sure powerstrip http://www.entechtaiwan.net/util/ps.shtm could kick your problem into next week; but I don't know offhand if there is a simpler solution. I don't have a Windows box to fiddle with right now, so I can't take a peek.

Yes, from the original max 1280x720 resolution in windows display properties I can only get one higher in powerstrip - 1280x1024.
