widescreen lcd's?

I was planning on getting two 17'' lcd screens for a dual monitor setup in about a month, but what about getting 2 widde screen 15'' lcd's? Are the wide screen lcd's any good, or what? I haven't seen any at newegg, but I was at best buy today and just saw one so I guess they make them...

anyone know much on them? Im getting ready to go off to college in 3 months, so i'd like to be able to just slap the two of them up on the wall hanging in front of my desk to save space... and i'd prefer wide screen if possible... (unless there is something seriously bad about them?)

Are you sure you didn't see a 15" LCD TV? I haven't seen a widescreen desktop LCD at that size before. IMHO, the 17" 5:4 screen is better than the 17" widescreen LCD because you get more pixels at a lower cost. While physically the 17" widescreen is wider, both screens have the same number of pixels horizontally.

if the 17'' widescreen lcd's look good enough, i wouldn't mind paying extra... anyone know who makes good widescreen lcd's?

also, is it possible to stack them one ontop of eachother instead of side by side? could you tell the dual monitor program that they are ontop of eachother? (since they'd be wider, i think it would look better then being extremely wide with two next to eachother)

Yes, you can stack multiple monitors whichever way you want and tell Windows how you have them stacked.
