thinking about getting a 20" widescreen lcd monitor eventually.
does anyone have link or pics of games played on widescreen vs. regular?

i currently have a 19" acer al1912, any idea how it would compare in size to a 20"? would it be taller, shorter, or about the same height?
 
you could always change the resolution to something like 1152x720 (if you have a weak vid card like mine), and everything will look fine and in widescreen.
 
or do you mean the actual monitor size...I dunno about that one. probably same height or slightly shorter than a 19" but much wider.
 
a widescreen 20" is almost the exact same height, both in terms of resolution and inches, as a 17" lcd
 
I Love my 20WMGX2!!! 1600:1 contrast ratio, 470Cd/M brightness enough to blind you, 6MS response time, HCDP compliant. It roxxorz my boxxorz.
 
i would love to get a dell 20"
however, i would need a vid carfd upgrade.

so like 370 wouldnt be a good deal.... /cry
 
I love my 2005FPW. I am an avid gamer, playing Tribes 1 though 3, Civ 4, neverwinter nights to name a few. Zero 'ghosting', and it looks at LEAST twice as good as my 17" CRT. By far, the best ~$400 I ever spent. I am thinking of getting another, just because.

I got in on that same boat. Just switched from a 19" Sony CRT!

Dell monitors are pretty good quality - aside from a few dead pixels I have no complaints.

My first LCD was a Dell UltraSharp 1900FP for $690, back in November 2002 that was a hot deal. It's a rebadged Samsung LCD and still works great to this day. It isn't as super bright as my 2005FPW but I definitely got my moneys worth.

I'd like to see the Gateway 21" for $399 - $450.
 
i'm confused by everyone saying they love the dell 2005fpw. it has a 16ms response time. that doesn't cause any problems in gaming?

the acer ferrari f-20 looks nice and i found it for $475 shipped, but thats a little more than i want to spend.

i was also looking at the benq FP202W for $379 shipped. thats more in my price range.

a lot of people have been talking about some sceptre lcd but i read several bad reviews on it.

Nope, no ghosting. We are not in 2003 anymore.
