i wear glasses for distance.. im not required to wear them when i drive but most of the time i do.
however thats irrelevant since the laptop is right in front of my face, im near sighted so it should be no problem. ive used laptops in the past that i can see fine, i use a dual 1600x1200 lcd setup for my desktop and i see it fine.
this thinkpad screen just tires my eyes, just like old CRT monitors would if you turned up the resolution really high. since the CRTs could barely handle the res, they would have to revert to a piss poor screen refresh rate at 60hz. i think for lcds 60hz is standard, but for CRTs, 60hz is abysmal. find a CRT monitor, crank it to 1600x1200 @ 60hz, open up a long document in microsoft word and see how long you can read until your eyes get tired.
