Widescreen 48" tv my dad just bought....ideas?

Getting it for $1500 even plus tax at HH Gregg. Seems like a decent deal given the $1800 prices tags said linked to page.

Anyone have this tv? Recommendations for it? We're picking it up this afternoon.

Do you have digital cable or satelite???? Get the HD box so you can start watching some Hi Def programing. It's amazing. Also, look into a good progressive scan DVD player, preferably one with the faroudja chip. It will say DcDi on the player if it has the chip.

My parents also bought an HDTV, it was between a mitsu 48" model and the JVC 56" I could hardly tell the difference in both but the Mitsu had the integrated tuner. So they went with the JVC, no integrated tuner but they are getting dish with an HD receiver, can't wait. Progressive Scan DVDs look amazing!

I wish I had the money to buy a big beautiful TV like that. Instead I have an analog TV that's so old is doesn't have Composite I/O ports on it.
