Whenever I try to use WickedGL (http://www.wicked3d.com) with any game, in a resolution over 800x600 (960x720/1024x768, monitor doesn't support anything higher), it locks up my PC. Just a black screen. It works fine in 800x600. (Just setting the game to 800x600 doesn't do it, desktop has to be that low too)
My friend uses it at this resolution with no problems, and on my old computer it worked fine (and I'm still using the same video card). My video card drivers are up to date, I've tried using the standard WickedGL driver, and the High resolution version. I'm out of ideas. These are the games I've tried it on: Half-Life, Quake III: Arena, and Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force.
Oh yeah, and the Deus Ex demo I downloaded gives me problems with semingly lengthy load times. But I guess that's just Deus Ex.
And lastly, anyone know if this is an average (or the closest thing to average there is in 3dmark) 3dmark score for my configuration? (Default test)
2963 I assume the video card is the reason for the lowish score. Eh, I'll throw in a Q3 timedemo thing.
Lighting: Lightmap, Geometric Detail High, Texture Detail max, Quality 16bit.
Marks on, Ejecting brass on, Dynamic lights on, High quality sky on.
