I've only played WiC, admittedly, but I've heard that they're similar games. Given that, if any of you could preach what you think CoH has over it, I'm all ears. I just don't think I need to shell out money for both.

Company of Heroes. There's actually some thinking and real reflexes involved. Not to better much better graphics, detail, more realistic troop animations, and you can command more units. The MP matches are very involved, whereas I didn't feel involved at all in WiC.

I'll start by stating that i own CoH but never tried it online, and that I have only played the WiC demo (it's due out sept 18).

Ok, what do you want more? Single player or multiplayer?

-WiC is more of a BF style online RTS (read my post on WiC).
-CoH is superior in single player from what i have seen on the first mission on the WiC demo, and i'm not much of a fan of base building RTSs online.

I would say they are both equal out of their element (WiC in single, CoH in multi), its' a matter of what you want more. The demo (1.2 gigs) for WiC will let you experence what it's like single and multiplayer (free multiplayer map), i would assume CoH has something similar.

I would advise trying both demos. And perhaps someone who knows CoH online can comment on it. You can also view game footage on youtube.com

CoH is fantastic online. I got bored of the single player almost immediately and went online. Fantastic community, for the most part, and lots of people willing to help you out. Once I figured out that you need to build two or three groups of Engineers/Pioneers right away, I quickly started to improve and then the matches turned out to be a blast. Highly recommended, if you like online RTS games.

I've been reading up on WiC and know all about COH. COH is heavily based around strategy, hands down. You really have to have tactics in that game, although I do not really care much for the slippery slope mechanic the game has with regards to early battles and their outcomes.

WiC seems to me like Shattered Galaxy, but I'm not sure. (Have yet to try it). Shattered Galaxy was a Korean RTS game released years ago and had the same exact dynamic as WiC does. SG was fun in its day, but became imbalanced over time.
