edit: be sure to look at the photos closely. You can see helmets on the road, people holding onto the walls, people jumping over the walls, etc.
 
I would say that's why THEY shouldn't ride in a big bike group. If you actually know how to ride you'd be fine.

In all fairness people that know perfectly well how to drive still crash. As shown here, sh1t happens no matter how stellar your driving skills are.
