Why you never have an important conversation on ICQ

That's why you go and work out, or play StarCraft, or sleep, etc.

So why can't you go?

And for that you should be man enough to at least face her with it, not on ICQ.

Im thinking about adding an amendment to what I sent her: "And I would, of course, appreciate a reply sometime tonight". Heh

Actually I have 1000+ games of starcraft logged, so pretty bored of that. I've been playing badminton all day and I think that qualifies as working out. (Actually let me tell you IT DOES). And then lastly, I already slept in and missed my morning physics class the other day. Not going to do that again.

Well there's a whole nother thread about why I can't go. Dig around for Alphathree33 threads, you should find it very easily.

I can't talk to her about it at school because we never have a minute alone and no one else needs to hear this. Also it should be noted that I asked her to come over tonight to study physics with me. She knows, I assume, that prom would be a rather hot topic of discussion. She didn't want to come. I had to do it on ICQ. I called her earlier too, but I didn't get an answer. Then when she called me back the timing just wasn't right.

Normally I would not do it on ICQ.

As tempting as it may be (convenient & free, right?) e-mail, IM, and pretty much any other form of electronic text based communication should NOT be used for serious conversation. Text doesn't carry emotion. Phone is infinitely better, at least you can hear tone of voice. In person is best, but when you can't do that do NOT use IM. Stop a conversation & pick up a phone if you have to, but it's simply not worth the risk.

If ya'll are through lecturing me about ICQ...

(BTW -- Viper... I am the only person I've ever heard use the phrase "infinitely better" until now 🙂)

It's all said and done. She's gone to bed. Really there wasn't that much to be said, but what there was had to be said and it had to be said tonight before it gets too close to prom.

Do you guys think it's wrong that I play the Starwars Imperial Death March theme song when dealing with girls? LOL

Anyway since I'm in a babbling on for hours sort of mood, let's talk about ICQ for a bit.

If you met me in person, I wouldn't be anywhere near this coherent. I would most likely say "Hi, nice t'meetu" very quickly and you may or may not understand anything I said after that.

If I write a long ICQ message I can say exactly what I want to say with no room for changing of meaning if I do it correctly. There are advantages. ...
