I like rap, but am getting tired of its lack of creativity and lately annoying chants. OMGWTFYEEEEAHWHATOHHHKSCREAMSAMEHOOKOVERINTUFFGUYVOICEBBQ! Someone please give us a guy with slick lyrics/smooth flow like Biggie! Eminem was a breath of fresh air when he first appeared on the scene, but now his childish satirical morphing is just too much to bother listening to. Argh the only good innovative rapper left is Nas (also Ghostface, he's been innovative as of late) and hiphop bellweathers like Black Star/Roots/Dilated P/Jedi Mind Tricks/Common
 
I said this before; only in america can an uneducated, middle school dropout, make millions by talking into a microphone about shooting people and screwing women. Not to mention the fact that it all sound sthe same. Rap takes NO TALENT what so ever. It's absolutely rediculous.

I saw eminem in an interview once on tv, well for about 2 minutes, then I had to turn it off. He's the biggest moron I've ever seen interviewed.
 
i enjoy some rap. i used to listen to Nas and his lyrics were pretty cool. even eminem's stuff is pretty good to me.

i can't stand some of the pop that passes as rap nowadays. the "songs" that have like 2 lines repeating over and over.
 
Rap is flat out the poorest form of music showing absolute lack of any kind of talent..
id rather listen to freaking hillbillie bluegrass... which i hate but not quite on the level of hate generated by these moronic rappers.... including Emenem...
I cannot stand R&B or rap as a whole.. all of it sucks if you ask me...

some Country (more like country rock actually)

jazz
club type music (not really sure of exact designation Gatecrasher type stuff)
 
I just hate their videos when all they show are half-naked chicks dancing around while they show off their bling. There's a right way to show off money and then there's the laughable way... can't stand it...

One other thing I should b!tch about while I have the floor... some lyrics are ridiculously stupid, just so it can rhyme. Kinda reminds me of a 4th grade writing level... sorta like Avril Lavigne's lyrics. Laughable too.

oh yea.

rap tends to suck because 95% of the time what makes a song big is the beat/melody and NOT the rap or rap skills of the artist.

I listen to a hip hop station in the morning for the morning show. My fiancee listens to a little rap (I'm trying to make her understand it's crap). Rap takes NO TALENT. Like I said, they're nothing but a bunch of uneducated fools who don't understand that "ain't" and "shizzle" are not words in Websters dictionary. They have no talent; no skill, nothing. If not for rap, they'd all be sitting on the bathroom floor in some random gas station smoking crack. In some cases, even with their "success" (lol), they still find a way to go back to their roots.

On top of that, they don't make their own music. They have to rip from Sting (see "puffy daddy") and other successful artists because they don't have the ability to write their own music. It's pathetic, really.

I don't hate all rap. But what I do hate are the rappers that use their so-called talent to promote a lifestyle of easy money, wanton violence, irresponsible drug/alchohol use, and disrespect to women to easily impressionable young people. Who wants to be a responsible member of society with some granule of social conscience when your favorite rappers say it OK to be an idiot?

Isn't that what rock'n'roll and punk are/were all about? Why is the phrase: Party like a Rock Star and not Party like a Rap Star?

Don't get me wrong, rap, or more correctly, hiphop, over the last 5-8 years has been a big pile of monkey crap... it's all about bling, hoes and "thuggin". Gone are the days of groups like EPMD, Public Enemy, Eric B & Rakim, Black Sheep et al. asking for social awareness and equality, and the desire for betterment through education and self-awareness.. now it's all about wearing a bandage on your face, acting tough (which is easy when you have a couple of 400 pound brutus' beside you), and smoking dope. hooray for dragging Black Equality back into the gutter...

 
I don't hate rap, I dislike uninspiring, remixed music. There are a few songs I can get into just for the beats, but for the most part I don't like it.
