On a tangent, I threw some sliced avocados in my Foodsaver & currently have on half in the fridge & one half in the freezer to see how long they hold up. Put them in on the fifth & so far, both are still green! Vacuum-sealing may be the secret to preserving avocados for guac to ride out the seemingly weekly price hikes. Even Walmart sells individual 'cados for a dollar now...my local grocery store is a buck sixty currently :(

Just pay the man. It's arguably the best dollar you can spend these days.

I was at Aldi today. Avocados were $1.49 each. That was especially high for Aldi. 99¢ is typical, bit on rare occasions you can get them for 79¢, or as low as 49¢. Avocados are expensive :^(

I was at a Village Pantry and got 4 small chicken nuggets for $5 and odd change. So nuggets are more expensive than guac

$1 today is worth 10¢ in 1950. Here's some other items from 1950...

House: $14,500
Average income: $3,216
Ford car: $1339-$2262
Philco model 1403 TV: $199
Admiral “home entertainment” TV system: $549.50
12″ records: $4.85
10″ records: $2.85
Milk: $.82
Gas: $.20
Bread $.14
Postage stamp: $.03
Pumpkins : $.02 cents a lb
Campbell’s Pork & Beans – (2) 1 lb. cans: $.25
Sirloin steak: $.77 lb
Kraft Mayonnaise – quart jar: $.62

multiply by 10 for today's prices. All things considered, $1 guac is pretty good.
