Why XP Pro?

I've noticed from reading a lot of threads here that most people who use XP use XP Pro. I was wondering why people are using Pro instead of Home. Are there that many important differences to warrant the $100 price difference? I bought XP Home and use that, Pro was never even considered because I didn't think that it was that different. Any input on this would be welcome.

Alot of people who use it probabaly got it for free or at a good discount.

You can get it for free through MSDN or similar deals, or through "alternative" channels

Or you can get student discounts etc etc.

Okay, now I know. Forgot to check the FAQs. Looking at it though, I don't feel I needed any of the Pro only stuff, so I guess that I'm okay. Thanks for the info.
