We don't need guns in the US capitol, and we don't need buffoons as presidents, but a hell of a lot of Americans believe we do. Canada is looking better and better every day. Or that "normal" country where they banned all assault weapons PERIOD! New Zealand.

I just don't understand living life so scared that you think you need to carry a gun at your own house in the highest income per capita zip code in the state.

I believe that besides the fear of requiring it for defense, it's the intimidation factor of open carrying. It can make people feel emboldened and more confident.
It's possible that people concealed carrying may feel more confident in themselves, but it doesn't project like open carrying on your hip or leg does.
