memorex 52x CD-R's brand new from CompUSA. 48x CD burner that has never had a single bad disc or problem. These new disks will only burn at up to 16x and often hang up for a few minutes around 9 percent. Ideas?

What program are you using to burn? It may think they can only be burned at 16x. Possibly disable Smart-Burn, etc.

try some other cds and see if the problem continues.

Last time I had that problem was when my burner died.

Exchange the opened pack at least. They aren't as warranted. Return the unopened pack.

Worse comes to worse, maybe you can exchange them with Memorex, but probably not worth the cost.

Stick with Fujis-Best Buy or Office Max has them on a great sale (after rebate) all the time and they are TY brand-the tops. BB has free shipping, OM free shipping if order over $50. I probably go through 50-100 CDR a week and these two stores have enough sales to keep me adequately stocked.
