Why would an IKEA worker be fired?

Because s/he put the exact number of screws in the package that there's supposed to be as opposed to less.

because the friggin' managers change the schedule almost daily with no notice to the employees and then write them up when the don't show up at the right time

Why are people so stupid? I mean, 400,000+ was the final tally. Is that really what he needed for the year? Greed at its finest.

Yep if he did this a little he would probable get away with it. But come on. last year they had 500k in returns. This year at the same time its 900k. That should have raised some red flags.

The funny thing is Ikea did not catch him. It was his own bank that turned him in. So Ikea really messed up here.

He was fired, because after hours he would stay in the store, making the TROMSÖ gallery his bedroom and the showroom with the red BILLY and birch effect EXPEDIT bookcases his living room. When hungry, he'd slip into the cafeteria, steal meatballs and gooseberry jam and pretend to cook them in the design-your-own kitchen studio. Of course, he only ate the gooseberry jam as he was deathly afraid of eaten the frozen and uncooked meat globules. *
