Why won't Windows media player fast forward some videos?

I downloaded Tokyo breakfast (mpeg) but windows media player won't let me skip ahead or fast forward. The only way I can see the end is to watch it normally and wait until the end.

I've noticed this in the past with a few other video files.

Any thoughts?

I think it depends on how the video was encoded. I'm not sure though. Have you tried fast fowarding on other players?

Yep, it is indeed dependent on the keying of the video when it was encoded. I see this most often with ASF files. I think there are some players that are able to skip forward, albeit it takes some time to resume the playback. Try Cliprex, I think it was able to do that.

Notice the Sexually Orientated part...

Saying things like what you just said brings the reputation of the forums down

Relax there, junior. Looks to me like he did nothing wrong. Just stating an observation. And I fail to see how what he posted in ANY way violates the forum rule you so kindly pointed out. Hall monitors sucked in school, and they suck on the Internet, too. We have Mods for this kind of thing. Let THEM correct him if he was wrong.

Oh, and I don't believe merely using the word PORN in a sentence constitutes sexually oriented material. It is just a word and nothing more than that.
