Why won't my Pioneer 108 burn Ritek A05 media at 8X?

If anyone has some feedback on this it would be great. I've attached a screenshot.

If I install hacked firmware I can burn it at 16X, but I don't trust it. I burned an A04 disc in around 6 minutes, but it was full of errors. I want to use the new 1.18 firmware. I purchased the Pioneer especially because it was supposed to be very good with Ritek media. What's the deal here? Very frustrating. :thumbsdown:
