Why won't my intellimouse explorer buttons remember what they do?

Every time i restart my computer, the two buttons on the side of my mouse used for back and forward forget that and don't work. I have to go into the mouse control panel. They are set correctly in there, but I have to change one, then use the use defualts button then apply it for it to work. It always used to stay programmed?

Are you using the intellipoint software to control the mouse settings?

Try downloading version 3.2 from Microsoft, if you did then I dunno.

I'm not sure then. Double check to make sure that you only have one program managing your mouse (intellipoint), and perhaps try reinstalling intellipoint and other associated mouse drivers.
