Why won't my computer boot....

A few months ago I jumped on a fry's mb/chip combo and I swapped out my old setup.

Later I bought a new antec case so I moved the new mb/chip.

So I wanted to put together my old initial setup. Some time passed as I got caught up with doing other things, but last weekend I put it together and plugged it in and it didn't work.

Some initial thoughts I had were
1)I am using a 'used' video card some neighbor who collects a lot of computer parts gave me. Its AGP, and well he said it was tested. Would a computer not turn on if the video card was problematic?
2) Possibly the power supply? In this setup its a Sparkle P/S which I think is nicely respected, and well it did work initially, and for the first swap.

When I plug in the computer, I do here the electrical whine of the P/S. Does that tell me anything?

3)The last possible issue could be the wiring of the the front switch and other jumpers to the MB. I've never been great at this, but its esp harder now because the case had no instructions and the mb manual was very brief. I hooked everything I knew, and I have two wires left over which I can't find places for on the MB

Maybe its something else...
Thanks for your time and thoughts

It would be a little easier if you'd provide motherboard make/model. Last time I saw the grounding issue, it would cause the PS to shut down.. maybe, maybe not. More than likely you do have a wiring issue due to the lack of documentation.

As far as the vid card issue, a system has to be able to find vid memory to boot... if you either don't have a vid card in it or if your card is bad, you should get post error beeps. Your problem is directly related to power up (wiring).

Did you buy a specific model Antec?
