Why wont Gateway 6400 Detect Quantum Atlas 10K II?

The drive works fine in my main system but not in the gateway, whats wrong?

using a terminator?...are the terminator settings correct in the bios?

yea and the OEM drive works fine, terminator is still there

How'z about scsi ID # ? not maybe conflicting with another drive's ID # ?

nope ID, changed the ID, I leave the drive on the chain alone. when another drive is on it works fine. but the atlas wont work no matter what. and its spinning and everything.

How'z that OEM drive hooked up, the cable you have has termination built in? or are ya using seperate terminator for that drive?

its built into the cable cant take it off.

68 pin drive or 80 pin? if 80 pin and adapter is LVD compatable not really sure what else to check.

Well, your not making this any easier, boy, gotta be something.....
2 things I would do, have ya tried moving the drive on the cable, to another connector.
and last have you, gone in your SCSI BIOS and check settings for the ID # you set for that drive, could be something in BIOS that is not letting this work. ctrl+a gets ya in SCSI BIOS upon detection of card at boot up.
