Ok, here's my system specs:
TBird 1ghz
IWIll KK266 Motherboard
512mb Crucial PC133 2/2/2
32mb Prophet II MX (nvidia 7.52 drivers)
Sb Live! X-Gamer
Netgear FA310TX
IBM 75GXP 45gb
Seagate 13gb Backup
TDK 12/10/32 CDRW
Windows 2000 Professional
I have been having this problem where I load up a game in Counter-Strike, and after the console raises to enter the game, it only gets half way and I can only move my mouse. The same sound also repeats over and over, and my mouse eventually freezes and I have to reboot. This does not happen EVERY time. I played a few games, then when I tried to go play again, it locked up. It is random. I installed Win2k, and I just have my video card and network card installed. I installed the Via 4-in-1 4.29's, the AMD reg patch for Win2k, the Microsoft patch for Via chipsets, and Direct X 8.0a. At first I thought this was a problem with my sound card drivers, but I do not have it in there and after a clean format, it still gives me this problem. What gives? I love Windows 2000 but I keep having this problem...I hope I won't have to go back to Win98...thanks in advance.
