Why wont BF2142 let me use 1280x1024? Help needed.

Hello all.

I bought BF2142 yesterday and it runs great but one problem... It wont let me use my monitors maximum resolution of 1280x1024, it only goes up to 1280x960. But BF2 will. Anyone know how to get around this? Help appreciated.
 
BF games usually pick up the available resolutions from the monitor .ini file. Try installing your monitor drivers and seeing if that gives you the option. If that doesn't work you can add "+szx 1280 +szy 1024" comments to your shortcut, so it looks like this...

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142\BF2142.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024
 
In BF2 they released that resolution in a patch. For whatever reason, they didn't include the same fixes in BF2142.
 
How annoying! I've set the resolution in the shortcut and it works fine. By doing this will it effect any of the settings in the in-game video settings? like AA, Texture Quality etc etc?

Not at all, it only overrides screen resolution.
 
I wish they supported WS natively.

On all the BF games for that matter :|

Didn't they equate it to like cheating because of the wider FOV???
People who spend the money on a WS monitor should be able to have the benefits of the WS monitor in game. 😛
