Two girls and a cup: also shouldn't be watched.

Or three guys and one hammer, of all the things I've watched, that video was by far the worst thing I've ever seen on the net.

Yuck... Last thing I watch was a beheading of a US military prisoner about a year ago. Never again. Turned my insides.

I tried...couldn't do it. In my 20's, I probably would've been able to watch the whole thing...but not today.

My advice to anyone that is having curiosity issues with the heavy gore content...sideline that curiosity & watch some golf videos or something else that pique's your curiosity. Seriously...even though I only got through the first minute or so, it was enough to be borderline messing with me. I turned it off just before it crossed the line.

There aren't many who can. For all the talk about violence in the media desensitizing people, we're more sensitized to it than ever. In the west anyway. It's a big part of why soldiers and war journalists suffer from PTSD in such high numbers. We have come to expect that ultra violence is supposed to be just an illusion. I wonder if studies have been conducted on PTSD in other cultures where this sort of violence is more common.

I haven't seen much stuff like this myself. I have seen the video of Budd Dwyer splattering his brains on live TV. That bothered me for a couple of days. Friends in hard news say a lot of horrifying raw footage comes through the AP wires. It can warp you. I'll stick with traffic jams and fender benders for the time being.

Actually, it is believed that most Afghans suffer from extreme depression as a result of PTSD from living in a country that is so brutal and has been at war for so long.

I never watched the Daniel Pearl beheading - the curiousity is there but from all accounts, I do not want to go there.

yeah. Unfortunately, curiosity was too strong for me on that one.

but I now know--never again.

It's not something you want to see. I don't think many realize the gravity of the situation there. Mexico is in a full blown civil war, over cocaine.

Meth, actually.

Cocaine is simply too expensive for them to deal with (the coke business is mostly trafficking from South American cartels, through Central America, and into the US).

Meth can be made at home, in their own labs. I believe amphetamines now account for some 70% of the Mexican cartel's business.

...except for the Zetas. they specialize in kidnapping, murder, and hostile takeovers (they'll take your meth lab and infrastructure from you; but they have no idea how to run it effectively)/

Sometimes I have to go to Mexico on business and this kind of stuff is why the guys won't let me run around by myself anymore. It really is a sad world down there now.

same here. i watched it, not so much out of curiosity, but of a sincere desire to somehow sympathize with his family, and the images will never leave my mind.
ever. i can't even appropriately explain the incredulity i feel that this type of thing is real. living in a place where this is a real possibility of happening to you or a loved one is unfathomable.

Yea I never understood the "violence on movies and tv and in music" argument. In a movie with gun fights and weird shit, I know it isn't real so it doesn't bother me at all. However, I can't even watch those videos of skaters breaking their legs, makes me almost vomit instantly. Anyone remember rotten.com? Yea I couldn't look at most of those pictures, the authenticity of them makes them far more gory than whatever Hollywood pumps out.
