Why were the last 2 matrix movies released the same year?

Money grab. Strike while the iron is hot. Sort of like releasing E.T for Atari during the big ET heyday, rush the game out quick to grab those sales.

Why do people keep saying 2 is the worst? It was infinitely better than 3. Lots of memorable scenes in 2.

Maybe? :hmm: I can't tell if that's an insult to Kwai or not (I love Bridge on the River Kwai).

No, it's just a gauge on how truly awful Matrix 2 is....if Matrix 3 can look that good in comparison.

I am saying that Kwai is "not as good as" Dr Zhivago.

In most trilogies, the bridge movie, or the 2d one, typically is the "worst" of the three. 1st sets up the confrontation, 3d is the climax and resolution. 2d just advances the plot.

Godfather 2 (well, not really a trilogy--only 1 and 2 were basically split into 2 movies)
Empire Strikes Back
Spiderman 2
X-men 2

all better than the other films in the trilogy.

...Some would say The Dark Knight--not I, because I think BB is better--but Ledger's Joker, alone, is certainly the best part of that trilogy.

True. Empire Strikes Back, Superman II, and Godfather II were much worse than the 1st or 3rd movies in those series.

yes, I recall how nauseatingly bad they were. Such imagery is tough to forget.

There is no reality where Matrix 2 is not the worst "sci fi" movie ever made.

Don't you dare apologize for the second. Don't you dare.
