Why weed should be legalized.

Why? So it can keep loser drug dealers from lacing it with other sh!t. Weed, normally, is not addictive nor dangerous. It's just a fun substance to use just like alcohol. No difference to my eyes, even if there is under the law. I haven't toked up in more than half a year (and I never made it a habit) just because you never know what's in there and also because I had to take blood tests for various reasons. Now lately a friend of mine was at a party and (or so he says), he smoked a joint and later passed out and turned white as snow. People were worried and all. Unless he took something else and just doesn't wanna say, then obviously the weed was laced with something.

This sh!t pisses the hell out of me. At least if the stuff was legalised, then it would be under government legislation and stuff and you could buy it from reputable sources. I would pay more if I could get clean weed guaranteed from a gov. depot. Isn't this the same story that happened with alcohol? Prohibition happened.. alcohol became illegal and fell into criminal hands, and crime rose dramatically? And who knows what was in that alcohol. Nowadays, its a lot more expensive but its legal, and it's safe (as safe as alcohol can be anyways). I'd like to see the same thing happen with marijuana.

What are your thoughts? I don't want to hear some government propaganda bullsh!t that weed supports terrorists, will make you lose all your friends and drop out, all your hair will fall out, whatever, there's plenty enough threads with that crap. You know who you are. Otherwise post away :)

Weed is growing increasingly ok with congressmen and other people, but it will never be legalized because the government doesn't want to admit it was wrong. Hell, the only reason prohibition was repealed was because there was such a huge uprising over it. A few people hitting the bong in their basement can't make enough of a stand to really make a difference. You want pot that's not laced? Go to Amsterdam.

Actually if you wanna be technical life IS a bunch of drugs. Drugs that your brain makes that change your emotions and moods, drugs that you take to fight illness and disease, drugs that you take at social events, etc.. ;)

Sure, I can live without alcohol and weed and usually do, but I like drinking with my friends, and sometimes I like smoking a joint with them too. Whatever.. I'm young, I can still abuse my body ;)

Weed = bad. No pothead is going to make weed be legalized. If you smoke, you = stupid. Simple as that.

Oh yeah, let's make sure it's legalized so I can get it from a respected source.. WHAT A SUPER DUPER IDEA!!

the first post argued that pot should be legalized. You are contradicting yourself.


In any case Ultima, its not gonna happen, not in the US anyway. I'm guessing it'll be decriminilized/legalized here in a few years, but the US? I don't think so.

what makes people continue eating fattening pizza and nachos even though they are bad for you? Because they make you feel good!

It CAN be very mentally addictive. I went through inpatient rehab for it. I enjoy smoking it but whenever I buy a bag I cannot reasonably control myself and find myself smoking every night until the bag is gone. Its not a drug I can responsibly use and I have to live with that. Most people CAN smoke it occasionally without a problem.

One good reason not to legalize it is DUIs... just imagine how many more people would be trying to hold a bong and smoke that sh!t while driving down the street.

Also, the difference between weed and alcohol is that alcohol doesn't affect those around you directly if you get piss ass drunk. I hate smokers and their disregard for others.

As for your friend, he was doing something that he wasn't supposed to be doing so he pays the consequences

Thank you Mr. Sarcasm I was referring to the original poster. If it's not normally addictive according to the original poster, then why do people keep on coming back for it? Because they enjoy it. Do most of these people ever stop? Or at least have self control over their actions? Most of them sadly do not. So therefore it is addictive because it's enjoyable.

sort of off topic but...

most cops now dont care too much about weed, my friend got pulled over and somehow the cop knew he had some weed and all the cop did was make him dump the bag out on the side of the road...

Does smoking weed give a stronger affect than alcohol or the two cannot be compared? What do you feel when you smoke it? As you can probably tell I've never smoked anything in my life :p

Actually, it would probably cut down on this. Where do you think most teenagers with pot go to smoke it now?

People do things they aren't supposed to all the time, that doesn't mean they should necessarily get stuck in jail for it.

I bet you had a D.A.R.E bumper sticker stuck on yoour notebook in high school.
