What I hate about OT and why I am not going in there anymore is the because of the 13 year old idiots/internet tough guys who run their mouth. I wish the mods would ban more in there.

I had a run in with one of them (who has been here since 2001) last night who stated "I bet when you hit your girlfriend it's her fault also". They say stuff there that they can't say in the real world because they would get their mouth smacked. Hell, I seen one thread where one was attacking John because he recommended different speakers and the kid resorted to acting like a moron.

I remember on mod who wanted to get rid of OT, and while I did not understand why they wanted to do that at that time, I understand completely now. It is a wasteland of mostly idiots who have migrated from their AOL chatrooms to here.

There are some decent/funny/intelligent people in that area, however there are simply too many morons.

No I would just assume that the link was inappropriate without even clicking on it and probably 95% of the users would assume the same thing. Even so would it hurt to maybe add a small note emphasizing that this is the type of post that is not appropriate and could earn the poster a vacation? It might serve as a small warning to the other 20 Beavis's out there busy looking for their own animals doing what animals do links to post. What is obvious to a geezer like me might not be so obvious to a 13 year old busy testing the limits of polite society.

Actually I'd say that should have been deleted entirely. If it's so offensive that it ought to be locked, why leave the link there? Just because the thread is locked doesn't mean people aren't going to see it and click the link (and the fact that people described what is in the video later in the thread doesn't stop clicking before they read it). Posting an offensive or disgusting image is different from just breaking minor rules that result in a lock. It's like the difference between a criminal case and a civil case. Lock threads that are just minor infractions that don't hurt anybody. Delete threads like the dog one, or at least edit out the link. Or, God forbid, put an explanation in the original post.

Oh yeah, in case someone might have missed it, by posting the link, the mods have CONTRIBUTED to people seeing a potentially offensive image, which I presumed was one of the things mods are supposed to try to prevent.

that would be an exception as it clearly violates NSFW policies. why the link is still there is questionable tho. if you locked it for content why would you leave the content in view?
