"sucks" may have been a bit harsh... but when you say you will still be doing the exact same thing.. but just not in this place.. it implies you have found something you consider to be better.. which can be easily considered to be a dis on the place you are leaving..

I don't really frequent OT or P&N, so I don't normally see the threads and posts that inspire locks and bans first hand, but I still don't understand this one. I see how other people later in the thread were out of line, but the OP was rather mild in his comments. Is AT really so scarred that their members will leave to another forum (that I have never even heard of) that it would lock a thread just because someone says something that mild? Also, two additional questions:
1) Why would Anand or Jason or whoever care what links are in our sigs so long as their aren't illegal or adult content related? I know it's their site and all, but are they really so uptight about people getting any sort of info about forum alternatives that they would resort to censorship? Personally they seem like much more easy going to me.
2) So what if people left to the new forum? I know AT is a business, but this forum is free. I have adds blocked and don't have to pay to be a member here, so as much as I love AT, would it really hurt them if I wasn't here? If they are that worried about loss of membership (and I don't think they are) then shouldn't they filter out any reference to Tom's Hardware or CNET?

Sorry, i am not trying to be mean... but 95% of the ppl who read that thread knew exaclty what it was. And while it did not techincally break the rules... it would have been better to not have been posted at all.

He didn't say he was going to TFNN. Just because he said he will be elsewhere doesn't mean he is going to TFNN.

The other posts were obviously making jokes. I beleive that was a given. No one said this place sucks.

Funny that you people are assuming that since he is leaving he will be on another forum. But its understandable since our lives revolve around the internet. :roll:
