Why was my thread locked?

Why was my thread called "Firewalls and ICQ" locked in the Hardware forum? Is a firewall not a piece of hardware, or what? Is there a special "Firewall" forum that I'm not aware of?

It is not a general hardware related issue. It should be under Tech Support or Networking.

I just went to the first page of GH and I counted 9 topics that weren't GH related though.

Well then I guess better moderation is needed.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be difficult, and I put my question in "Software" as I guess it's related to ICQ. But the question was really about my firewall. The firewall is part of my router. A router is a piece of hardware. I have a specific question about how to set up my hardware so that it works with ICQ.

This just seems like a hasty lock to me. Oh well, whatever.

Well then put it in networking. Routers, firewalls, and icq are all network related so maybe that would have been a better solution. The tcp/ip stack and the filtering (or NAT as it probably is in this case) are also software and network related as opposed to hardware.

The Moderators are not perfect, one just made a boo-boo. Just re-post it in Networking. No biggie.
