Why was my SLI AA thread locked?

That comment hit the nail on the head and I couldn't agree with you more.

Rollo's pattern is to start a flamefest with a troll thread and then after a war errupts he backs away with "poor old me, I'm just a hobbyist/collector but everyone is against me" comments.

Yeah its getting out of hand. I'm siding with Rollo here, people are trolling his threads. He posts no misinformation has solid data to back up his opinions and some people are responding with trollish comments. About the only one who debates Rollo sensibly is Creig, the rest seem really immature. Refer to this thread here. All he did was post a link to a review and he was called a troll. I don't care to hear what Rollo did three years ago over and over. Lately his posts have been interesting to read.

Uhh, Doom3 sucked, it still does suck. I am not a "stupid" user. I have run in the last 6 months an ATI X800XT PE and a 6800GT. The diff is not worth posting, not at all. I don't get where you are coming from swearing that nvidia is bleeding edge?? You need to chill and look at the real world. ATI crushed Nvidia with the 9800 vs the whole freaking FX series. ATI beat nivdia with the X850PE and will "maybe" beat Nvidia again with the r520.

You need to quit being a "fanboy" and look at what is better for 99% of the games in THIS world. Also stop crying when somebody decides your thread is inflammatory and just live with it. You just seem to think Nvidia works wonders and craps blunders. That is not even close to the truth. Give some good advice for once in your life. Damn!!!

You are wrong. Lego Star Wars, Pitfall, Pacific Fighters, Painkiller, Far Cry, Splinter Cell Chaos theory- all SM3 games. (maybe Battlefield 2 as well as it notes DX9c under video)

This is called an opinion, and everyone's is different. Doom3 was my favorite game last year by far. Many games will be based on the Doom3 engine.

You apparently aren't aware that nVidia offers EXR HDR, soft shadows, SM3 (which includes displacement/parallax mapping), and SLI while ATI does not? The feature set of ATIs current cards is largely the same since 2003, it doesn't even meet the MS standard.

No. ATI won some benches, nVidia won others. The 9800 was the better card, but not by any large margin.
Apparently you're too young to remember nVidia beating ATI with the Riva 128, the TNT, the TNT2, the Geforce 1, the Geforce2, the Geforce 3, and the Geforce 4? Not to mention 3dfx kicking ATIs butt before the Riva128.
You probably also don't know that ATI did not develop the 9700Pro/9800Pro. They bought a company called ArtX that had developed the 9800. Ooooops. One of those occasions where actually knowing something about all this can help?

Really? Last I checked 6800GT/U SLI destroy X850XT PEs. Beyond that, the X800XT PE and the 6800U were the cards released at the same time, and they traded benchmarks with the 6800U offering more advanced features by far. The games you'll play next year are made possible by the 6800- check nVidia's developer testimonial page if you don't believe me.

You'll never find me saying the 5800 is better than the 9800, because it wasn't. You might see me say it was better at a game, but not as a whole.

Why don't you look? What does it matter, even if I did? I just pointed out you are totally wrong about DX9/Doom3, does that mean nothing you will ever say again is correct?
