why does unreal tourney take up 95% cpu time when its downloading a map?!? i could be getting some good WU time but no, it eats processor time not doing anything. damn you UT, damn you!

No, Ray, that's why people climb Mt. Everest. No one knows why UT needs 95% to download a map ... 🙂

No, JHutch, it's exactly the same thing with programmers. :Q

Why should I write a program that takes 95% CPU? Because it's there, and I can......

Seems to be the mentality of the MS programmers, and apparently the UT ones too. 😉

There once was a time when good resource management was almost an art, way back when CPUs were slower, and memory far less. There seems to be a lot of sloppy resourcemanagement these days and an arrogance that says I need all of the resources to do my thing.

NOTE: There were sloppy ones back in the old days too, and programmers who assumed that their programs would be the only thing running, or designed the program to require it to be the only thing running.

/me whacks lazy programmers who write sloppy code with his cane.

😉😉
