Destiny baby!

Remember 1983?

- Sixers over Bucks in Eastern Conference Championship Series.
- Lakers over Spurs in Western Conference Campionship Series.

- Sixers beat Lakers in NBA Finals. :D

History will repeat itself. GO SIXERS!

Let me see.... Even with the conspiracy and the help from the refs, ths Sixers can barely beat the Bucks and had to win it in seven games. Now lets take a look at the lakers. They did not lose one playoff game and they swept the talented KINGS and the Twin towers of the Spurs. Hmmm... let me think now. Who's going to win?! I say, Sixers shouldn't even show up for the Championship series and save themselves the embarassment.

Ace,

That is the exact samething people said back when the Pistons swept the Lakers.

Don't count the 76ers out.

uh... every team that the lakers swept during the playoffs would have beaten the sixers no problem.

just a thought.

But this could be due to the fact that the Lakers had no Magic Johnson and Byron Scott.

I think Sixers will take Game 1 - The Lakers have had such a long rest...and they may be starting to believe the hype.

Once they actually lose a game....things may get interesting.

There is no way Sixers can win over the Lakers.... in your dream dude... Iverson is good, but he is only the one can step up. Mutombo is not consistent with his game. He was good yesterday but that's all. Yes, Lakers lost 0-4 with Detroit WHEN MAGIC AND BYRON SCOOT WERE INJURED. OTHERWISE, THEY WOULD SWEEP DETROIT ALSO.

Hey.......I want in on this...;) Who said something about a friendly wager?????;) A/T pool???? How about which game the Lakers will take it????;)
I'm sorry.....the 6ers' just don't have the guns to compete normally and right now, the Lakers are peaking......I'll say they'll be lucky (the 6ers') to see a game 5!;)

hmm....sixers will lose, almost certain. I had been betting a significant sum since the very begining that sixers and lakers would be in the finals. Though even being a solid Iverson supporter, there is no way they can beat the lakers. If Mutombo gained 100 pounds of muscle overnight with no decrease in speed, I predict easy win...but until then, shaq is unstopable.

Ummmm Magic missed only one game and the way the Pistons kicked the Lakers a$$ that series, Byron Scott may have helped them win a game or two. But they still would have lost.

I find it amazing how dumb people are when they say the Sixers shouldn't show up.

I guess 1980 US olympic team shouldn't have showed up.
I guess the 69 Jets should have stayed home.
I guess Ali really didn't shake up the world, he should have stayed home as well.
I don't think Villanova should have showed up in 1985 against the Hoyas.
Mutumbo and the Nuggets really didn't upset the Sonics in 95 either. They also should have stayed home.

Thats why they play the games. The Sixers are the only team in the league who does not at anytime have to double team Shaq or Kobe. They play the best defense in the league. They will get the Lakers to play ugly basketball and they will not lay down for the Lakers. The Sixers are that damn good at what they do. They have survived and defeated two teams in the Raptors and Bucks. Two of the best offensive teams in the league. And both teams shot lights out. Still in the end the Sixers won. They are battle tested. They can get blown out one night and it not affect them one bit in the next game. They don't discourage. They will dive for every loose ball and if Iverson's hot no one can stop him. No one. The big three for the Bucks averaged almost 64 a game with Tim Thomas giving them 11 off the bench. In the end still wasn't enough. They have survived massive performances from Vince Carter, in the end still wasn't enough. Oh make no mistake this team the Lakers are going to see will be the best team they have seen this post season. In 11 head to head matchups with Mutumbo, Shaq averages 22pts and shot 49% from the field. He damn sure better put up better numbers than that. If he doesn't there will be a sweep alright. But it won't be the Lakers doing the sweeping. And another thing, Fisher won't average 17 a game against the Sixers. Him and Rick Fox are playing so far over their heads its a joke. The Sixers will shut all that crap down. Oh this is going to be a war. This team the Lakers are getting has the heart of lion. Its going to be ugly. And look for Shaq to start whining. He better work on those foul shots, because he's going to be shooting them quite a bit ;).
