Why the SH6???

Ok, I didn't take the time to read the entire review on the main page, but I don't understand the point in manufacturing a Slot1 motherboard, especially since the new wave of Intel socket CPUs just came out. Now, am I just being totally stupid? Becuase I honestly don't see the need for a new Slot1 solution, and are there any real improvements over existing boards Slot1 boards?

Its there to satisfy people with a Slot1 CPU wanting to upgrade their motherboard, but thats just a very small percentage of people. The improvement over other Slot1 boards, including BX and VIA133A, is AGP4x, ATA100, and true 133MHz support which BX lacked.

Well, it offers all the advantages of the i815E chipset for someone with an SECC2 CPU who doesn't want a VIA chipset or a BX board:

-asynchronous memory bus

-AGP 4X

-ATA/100

There are thousands of Slot 1 processor's out there and this is the only 815 option for those people. A niche market but could turn into a decent seller for them.

Besides, if I remember correctly, the 933 and 1000 P3 are only available in Slot 1.

WEll for one thing there is a sloket converter.
However there is no slot 1 to fcpga conveter.
PLus it's easier to insulate a sloket rather than a whole motherboard.
