Why the NBA is lame

I fail to see the issue. They created a ball with better grip when wet, so what? How is it really any different than shoe companies creating shoes with better grip (Hint: it isn't)?

i don't hear ppl bitchin' about the new soccer/football design for the world cup

Actually, a lot of players and keepers were unhappy with the new ball. They complained that it moved a ton in the air and that it felt lighter when struck although the size and weight remain unchanged.

okay my bad

looks ok, i would have rather had them use the microfiber material, but keep the 8 panel design. the 2 panel doesn't look right, particularly the part where your opposite palm would go.

Leather basketballs suck. Has anyone that is calling this lame ever played with a leather basketball? I have and when they get wet it's like a bar of wet soap. It's a good move.

I've just never cared for leather, even dry it's still a pretty slick surface. The tactile feel of composite just simply can't be matched by leather when it comes to shooting.

I've been using quality composite basketballs for over 10 years now.

composite balls definitely have a great feel. especially us who don't have NBA sized hands, lol.

i just wish this damn new ball would be cheaper than $100, jeez.

i remember spalding had a sweet composite ball when they first came out. you could get a nice one for like $20-30. can't find 'em anymore.

Check out the Wilson Evolution for around $30-$40.

My favorite basketball is the Spalding TF-1000. The Wilson Jets are alright, but I prefer the feel of the Spalding.

why change it? because players today can't shoot?

the design itself isn't "lame" the fact that they are changing the ball in-and-of-itself is lame.
Maybe we should go back to short shorts and remove the shot clock?

don't forget... we have to remove the defensive cirlce and 3 second violations.

Change is for idiots and a$$holes!!
