I captured in DVD and it saved the file as an mp2.

A dvd is supposed to hold 2 hours of video @ 4.7gb

My capture was 1 hour 45 min, and the stupid file is over 6 GB. What the hell am I supposed to do? How can I even fit that on a dvd....?
What do I have to do to convert it to fit on one?

DVDs use variable bit rates, carefully throttled down whenever possible. At a guess, the ATI software is either using a fixed bitrate -or- an average bitrate but you've / they've set the average 50% higher than typical DVDs.

What do I have to do to convert it to fit on one?
re-encode at a lower bitrate. Some of the guides at www.doom9.org or www.vcdhelp.com can probably help.

Check the software settings, unless ATI's programmers are slack-jawed yokels you should be able to dial down the bitrate for your future recordings so you only have to fix this one.
